Field Forester – one post

  • Plan and supervise all forestry activities in areas where the company operates, ensuring efficiency and adherence to best practices.
  • Conduct field visits and verify all operations to ensure compliance with the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Oversee tree nursery operations to ensure optimal growth and health of seedlings.
  • Collaborate with field supervisors to ensure the smooth establishment and management of customers’ plantations and woodlots.
  • Enforce safety protocols, conduct regular risk assessments, and ensure all forestry activities comply with environmental regulations and company safety standards. Conduct training sessions and monitor field operations to maintain high standards of environmental, health, and safety practices
  • Develop and strengthen stakeholder relationships through effective communication and the provision of technical advice.
  • Implement fire prevention measures, maintain readiness by training and equipping a standby crew, and develop coordinated suppression plans to ensure rapid and effective response to fire incidents, in collaboration with local authorities.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in implementing commercial forestry programs
  • Possession of a degree in forestry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili
  • Basic knowledge of GIS and data collection tools such as GPS, KOBO Collect Tool, and QGIS is advantageous
  • Must possess a valid motorbike driver’s license
